It goes without saying that your Wedding Photography is very important. Your photographs are what your left with, when the day is over. All those memories have to be captured professionally and you need to be happy with what you receive from your photographer. There is a good chance that the photography is going to take up a good chunk of your budget. So below are some really useful tips to help you find the right photographer at the right price.
1. Always meet your photographer in person and ask questions. Don’t leave any stone unturned find out about their previous experience, what products they offer, what packages they offer. Make sure you find out about them and see if you both get along well. You can’t judge a photographer by just a portfolio on it’s own.
2. Photographers portfolio are the best way to see what style of photography to expect. Most photographers will have a large selection of photo’s available in the portfolio, but remember they are probably the best shots out of all of them. If you can try and view a full series of photographs from one or two particular weddings. This way you can see how the photographer captured the whole day rather than just one or two of the best photographs from each wedding they have done.
3. Budget photographers are worth while. You don’t have to pay thousands of pounds to get great photographs. The photographers that charge in the higher budget range will most probably have a great deal of experience and will offer high quality products and albums. With budget photographers there is a mixed bag of good and bad. The best tip would be to view their portfolio in full, and meet with them to discuss what their previous experience is. If your unsure, then don’t do it. You have to feel comfortable with your photographer otherwise it’s just another thing you’ll be worrying about throughout the build up to the wedding.
4. Compare all the photographers in your area. If you know your budget and you know what you want, then you can pick a selection of wedding photographers in the area and set aside some time to chat with them on separate days. This is important because it gives your the opportunity to find the best packages suitable for you as well as giving you the opportunity to see a wide range of offers available from different photographers. Get some quotes and compare them all side by side.
5.CD or album. You can save a lot of money if you opt for a photographic CD instead of a traditional wedding album. Most photographers will give you the option to just have a CD of your photographs instead of an album. Wedding albums from your photographer are usually much higher quality than the albums in supermarkets and high street photographic shops. You can get some really good deals if you want an album with your photography, ask your photographer what options they offer and what deals they can offer both with and without an album. It’s a personal choice whether to choose an album or not.
When choosing your photographer make sure your happy. Always ask if your unsure and stick to your budget. Shop around and compare the offers and you’ll be enjoying your photographs for years after your wedding day.
